Whisenant & Lyle and its predecessor companies were founded in 1963 in Dripping Springs, Texas, where its base of operations remains today. We operate as a full-service water well drilling and pump service contractor in the hill country of Texas with a focus on residential and commercial markets.

Our central location allows us to efficiently serve customers across a number of counties including Hays, Travis, Blanco, Burnet, Comal and Williamson and towns and cities such as Dripping Springs, Wimberley, Blanco, Johnson City, Austin, Bee Cave, Lakeway, Spicewood, Marble Falls, Leander, Kyle, Buda, San Marcos and Round Rock.

Ray Whisenant, Jr., and John P. “Pat” Lyle have each been involved with the company in either a management or ownership role for over 30 years.  During this period of time, the company has established a base of customers well in excess of 5,000 and currently has over 20 experienced employees.  In the first quarter of 2007, James Winfrey became President and majority owner of the company, bringing over 40 years of management, financial and strategic planning experience, as well as additional capital resources to support future growth.  Pat Lyle currently serves as Vice President and General Manager, while Ray Whisenant functions as a consultant, after retiring from day-to-day operations.

Our company is continuing to grow as we strive to meet the demands of an ever expanding customer base and significant population growth in central Texas. In addition to the water well drilling and pump services we have provided our customers historically, we install and service water reservoirs, water treatment systems, septic systems and rainwater collection systems. We also offer our commercial customers a full range of products and services.
